He was perhaps "the" Welsh Revivalist of the 19th century. He drew crowds exceeding 10,000 in number and was said to have preached "as if talking fire down from Heaven." When he died, many said the greatest preacher in all of Wales, perhaps the world, had gone on to his glory.
