Anthony Downie is an artist living and working in North Shields. His work focuses on finding beauty in everyday moments.
In Sunlight Shadow, Downie highlights simple aspects of life that are often overlooked, while also conveying a sense of nostalgia or unease.
This exhibition explores the tension between ordinary life and deeper emotional responses we feel if we seek them out. He captures moments that are easy to overlook but carry significance. Through his work, he examines how we interact with the world around us, often suggesting that our sense of control is fragile and temporary.
