The collection of work originates from Hannon’s animated abstract film of the same name,‘Blythian Memes’  a film that draws on the local imagery, structures and motifs that make Blyth distinctive. The exhibition expands on that vision, translating moving image into layered, abstract works that both celebrate and transform the familiar.

You may already know Dex Hannon’s work from the striking Windtwisters hoarding in Blyth town centre, facing the new Market Pavilion.

He brings a unique perspective on the town, reworking its visual language into something at once new, powerful and deeply connected to place.
